On Oct. 1, 2012 the Obama administration started awarding bonus points to hospitals that spend the least on elderly patients. It will result in fewer knee replacements, hip replacements, angioplasty, bypass surgery and cataract operations.
These are the five procedures that have transformed aging for older Americans. They used to languish in wheelchairs and nursing homes due to arthritis, cataracts and heart disease. Now they lead active lives.
Astoundingly, doctors will be paid less to treat a senior than to treat someone on Medicaid, and only about one-third of what a doctor will be paid to treat a patient with private insurance.
In addition to the across-the-board cuts, the Obama administration will now impose a new measure on hospitals: “Medicare spending per beneficiary.” Hospitals that spend the least on seniors get bonus points, and higher-spending hospitals get demerits. Next month, the Missouri Senate will consider a bill which would effectively cripple the implementation of the Affordable Care Act within the state.
Following the lead of South Carolina, where lawmakers are fast-tracking House Bill 3101 in 2014, and Georgia, where HB707 was recently introduced by Rep. Jason Spencer, Missouri State Senator John T. Lamping (R-24) pre-filed Senate Bill 546 (SB546) to update the Health Care Freedom Act passed by Missouri voters in 2010. It passed that year with more than 70% support.
SB546 would ban Missouri from taking any action that would “compel, directly or indirectly, any person, employer, or health care provider to participate in any health care system.” That means the state would be banned, by law, from operating a health care exchange for the federal government. http://blog.tenthamendmentcenter.com/2013/12/missouri-bill-would-gut-obamacare/?doing_wp_cron=1388339018.7721281051635742187500#.UsLfWLT6Xwn
How To Create A Banana Republic Out Of A Once-Great Nation Altruism is a mask for deception. The fiat system promotes altruism with slogans like, “For the greater good,” “It’s for the children” and “Equality for all.” Translated, this means, give of your substance so that we may all be equal.I have already reported to you that the Washington, D.C., elites are eying your retirement funds and the discussions are becoming more open. President Barack Obama proposed “automatic IRAs” in his 2013 budget. These would have required business to contribute 3 percent of an employee’s salary to private companies selected by the government in order to fund a pension.
So how do you turn a once-great nation into a banana republic? First, you divide the people against themselves by slowly changing their psyche to collectivism and altruism. Then morality becomes quicksand, and reality becomes spurious and frivolous.
Collectivism and altruism diminish individualism and transforms the mind. Adolf Hitler used this concept to manipulate the German people into false patriotism and self-sacrifice. Now, it’s déjà vu all over again. http://personalliberty.com/2013/12/31/how-to-create-a-banana-republic-out-of-a-once-great-nation/
A dramatic shootout between authorities and suspected cartel gunmen at a Mexican seaside resort this month has ties to a botched U.S. gun operation.
A U.S. official said Tuesday that investigators have traced at least one firearm recovered at a December 18 gunfight in Puerto Peñasco, across from the Arizona border, to Operation Fast and Furious. http://www.cnn.com/2013/12/31/justice/mexican-shootout-fast-and-furious/index.html

‘LOOKS LIKE WEIMAR GERMANY’: THE VIRAL PHOTO OUT OF CONNECTICUT THAT’S GIVING SOME GUN OWNERS CHILLS via The Blaze
A now-viral photo showing a long line of Connecticut residents waiting to register their guns and ammo is circulating across the Internet — and it’s sending chills down the backs of some gun owners.
Connecticut gun owners are rushing to register certain firearms and ammunition that will be considered illegal contraband in the new year.
Under a wide-ranging gun control law passed after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, they have until Tuesday to submit the paperwork with the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection. http://gopthedailydose.com/2014/01/01/looks-like-weimar-germany-viral-photo-connecticut-thats-giving-gun-owners-chills/
U.S. automaker Chrysler will become fully owned by Italy’s Fiat under terms of an agreement announced Wednesday that also involves the United Auto Workers union. The agreement comes more than 4-1/2 years after the Obama administration brought Fiat in to keep Chrysler in business as part of a packaged bankruptcy proceeding.
In a statement, Fiat said it has agreed to pay $3.65 billion for the 41.46% of Chrysler it doesn’t already own from the UAW’s medical benefits trust for retirees. http://money.cnn.com/2014/01/01/news/companies/fiat-chrysler/
In a few weeks, federal officials may require new vehicles to have trackable GPS “safety” devices which could be hacked to cause automobile accidents and may even usher in mileage taxes.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is spending the next couple of weeks mulling over its decision to install vehicle-to-vehicle communications – known as V2V for short – into new vehicles which would allow them to “talk” to each other through GPS data under the guise of “accident prevention,” according to ABC News.
However, one official involved with the government study of the devices admitted that hackers could abuse the system to create mass havoc on the road. http://www.infowars.com/feds-may-require-vehicle-location-tracking-in-new-cars/
Nobel Prize-Winning Anti-Communist Icon [Lech Walesa] :

District Judge Edward Korman made his ruling in New York on Tuesday, more than three years after the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed suit. The ACLU claimed that – since Americans put so much of their lives on their computers, cell phones, and other devices – border officials should have reasonable suspicion before sifting through someone’s personal files.
Attorneys argued that searches conducted without reasonable suspicion are a violation of the Fourth Amendment, which protects against unreasonable search and seizure.
Not so, according to Judge Korman. In his decision Tuesday he argued that the area 100 miles inland falls under a “border exemption.” http://rt.com/usa/court-upholds-laptop-border-searches-041/#_=_
