Obama strikes back at Congress: ‘They’re focused on trying to mess with me.”  [What an entirely arrogant President is he.  It can NEVER be about the issue at hand, only about him.  We can tell by his verbiage that he is from the Chicago Community Organizing scene, for sure.  Name one other President who has spoken this way about his fellow Americans.]  ——————-

“This is the United States of America,” declared President Obama to the burghers of Liberty, Missouri, on Friday. “We’re not some banana republic.”  [You are so right, Mr. President, we are not!  We are a Constitutional Republic (not a Democracy, as you keep telling us in a shocking display of not knowing our Constitution) and the House of Representatives is within its rights to fund ALL government except for your Obamacare – like it or not.  The rest will play out according to the Constitution.]

He was talking about the Annual Raising of the Debt Ceiling, a glorious American tradition that seems to come round earlier every year. “This is not a deadbeat nation,” President Obama continued. “We don’t run out on our tab.” True. But we don’t pay it off either. We just keep running it up, ever higher.  [And I repeat, the House DID fund ALL government except for that law that you keep changing on your own, the one that is so rife with problems that it will devastate our economy, the one that not ONE Republican could vote for because it was just that bad. I want to throw a brick at my TV every time Bob Beckel on Fox News’ The Five says that there is no proof that even ONE person has been harmed by Obmacare.] ———-

On Thursday, Home Depot became yet another company that announced it would shift part-time workers to the government-run healthcare exchanges. In addition, a company spokesperson conceded that full-time employees, though they will still get health benefits, would pay more due to an increase in costs next year.  —————–

Overpayments in the unemployment insurance system cost taxpayers billions of dollars every year, including millions of dollars in benefits going to convicts in prisons across the nation, according to a House panel.

The House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Human Resources held a hearing focusing on ways to “end cash for convicts” and improve the integrity of the unemployment insurance system.  ———————-

Adm. Mullen Admits Special Ops Told to ‘Hold in Place’ During Benghazi  On Thursday, while denying that a “stand-down order” was given to Special Forces members ready to help Americans who were under siege at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi last September, one of the heads of the Benghazi Accountability Review Board (ARB) admitted that a “hold in place” order was in fact given.

Testifying before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Admiral Mike Mullen said that the direction given to Special Operations Command Africa commander Lt. Col Gibson was to “hold in place” on the night of the attacks.

Gibson is the boss of Gregory Hicks, the former deputy chief of mission in Libya who had testified that a “stand down” order was given to Special Forces who wanted to help Americans who were under assault in Libya.

Mullen also said that U.S. aircraft were not at the ready while the attack was ongoing. He claimed there was a “physics problem” in addition to a “time and distance problem” that prevented the United States from providing immediate air cover.

An aide to a high-ranking GOP member of the House Oversight and Government Affairs committee told MailOnline that the committee’s chairman, California Rep. Darrell Issa, ‘is dead serious’ about raking the likely 2016 presidential candidate over the coals in the future.

Darrell Issa is scheduled to travel to Libya next week as part of his investigation into the attack last year on the Benghazi consulate, according to documents obtained by POLITICO.

The California Republican, who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, did not invite Democratic counterparts on the trip, which has been in the works for over a week and begins on Sunday with stops in Italy and Egypt.

[Demonstrating the fact that it is Obama and his fellow Democrats who are ramping up hatred in this country..  I put this in my Corner after being told by an uninformed moderate that it is the Republicans who have created our divisive and caustic atmosphere.  I would like to have a list of hateful, shameful things that Republicans have said, and I will print them if they can be verified.]

Democratic Official Allan Brauer Wishes Death on Ted Cruz Aide’s Children

May your children all die from debilitating, painful and incurable diseases.   ——————-

A journalism professor at the University of Kansas (KU) turned to Twitter on Monday to suggest he would like to see the murder of children of National Rifle Association (NRA) members at the hands of a deranged gunman.

A journalism professor has defended tweets he sent out which called for the death of NRA employees children.

“#NavyYardShooting The blood is on the hands of the #NRA,” tweeted David Guth, who is an associate professor of Journalism at the university’s William Allen White School of Journalism.

“Next time, let it be YOUR sons and daughters, he continued. “Shame on you. May God damn you.”

Speaking with Campus Reform on Wednesday, Guth confirmed it was he who sent the controversial tweet.

“Hell no, hell no, I do not regret that Tweet,” he said. “I don’t take it back one bit.” [As an aside, I sometimes get some push-back on my Conservative Corner.  Without exception the issues are never debated, but I am called names such as moron, and told that my CC would make good toilet paper.  Such intelligence, or lack thereof, abounds on the Left.]  ———————-

Dem Rep. Alan Grayson Praises Rise of ‘Stealth Socialism’ in America  [Exactly – we are being led like lambs to the slaughter.]

Asked about the Fed’s expanding balance sheet, the Florida Democrat said: “We’ve had a government takeover of the bond market. Stealth socialism’s been created. Government simply ends up owning more and more and more.”

“If government had taken over the steel industry, maybe it would have been more noticeable,” he added. “They’ve taken over the financing of housing industry as well, with a desired result.”   ———————-

[Are you sending someone off to college this fall?  Be forewarned:]  The New York Post (8/25/11) carried a story about a student in training to become dorm supervisor at DePauw University in Indiana. She said: “We were told that ‘human’ was not a suitable identity, but that instead we were first ‘black,’ ‘white,’ or ‘Asian’; ‘male’ or ‘female’; … ‘heterosexual’ or ‘queer.’ We were forced to act like bigots and spout off stereotypes while being told that that was what we were really thinking deep down.” At many universities, part of the freshman orientation includes what’s called the “tunnel of oppression.” They are taught the evils of “white privilege” and how they are part of a “rape culture.” Sometimes they are forced to discuss their sexual identities with complete strangers. The New York Post story said: “DePauw is no rare case. At least 96 colleges across the country have run similar ‘tunnel of oppression’ programs in the last few years.”

You ask, “Williams, what can be done?” Students should record classroom professorial propaganda and give it wide distribution over the Internet. I’ve taught for more than 45 years and routinely invited students to record my lectures so they don’t have to be stenographers during class. I have no idea of where those recordings have wound up, but if you find them, you’ll hear zero proselytization or discussion of my political and personal preferences. To use a classroom to propagate one’s personal beliefs is academic dishonesty.

Vladimir Lenin said, “Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.” That’s the goal of the leftist teaching agenda.

A public school in Tennessee is rightfully under fire after an honors class received a reprehensibly one-sided lesson on religion.  During the three-week study, the group of Hendersonville High School freshmen went on a field trip to a nearby Islamic mosque and left with copies of the Koran. At no point were the students offered a similar trip to either a Jewish or Christian place of worship.

The outing also consisted of a reading from the Koran, according to one parent, and followed a trip to a Hindu temple during which the class studied meditation.   ———————

The Constitution guarantees the right to free speech, but don’t try to pass out copies of it at Modesto Junior College in California.

A student at the school who tried to pass out pocket-size pamphlets of the very document that memorializes our rights got shut down on Sept. 17 – a date also known as Constitution Day. Campus authorities told Robert Van Tuinen, who caught the whole thing on videotape, he could only pass out the free documents at a tiny designated spot on

The Aviationist reports that in March a U.S. MQ-1 drone came close to being intercepted by an Iranian F-4 Phantom combat plane, but the Iranian aircraft stopped short after a warning by an American pilot.

“He [the Raptor pilot] flew under their aircraft [the F-4s] to check out their weapons load without them knowing that he was there, and then pulled up on their left wing and then called them and said ‘you really ought to go home,’” Gen. Welsh said.

According to The Aviationist, the Iranians came within 16 miles of the drone.
