Republican Benghazi Report Alleges State Department Coverup

A new report keys in on the space between what the White House knew, and what it chose to publicly say. Eli Lake reports.

Boston Marathon bombing lesson – political correctness kills

Yet, our obsession with political correctness, with a strong desire not to offend our enemies makes our self-defense immeasurably more difficult.

Enough with all the chest-thumping, mingled with manly tears, about the dramatic end of the Marathon bombers’ reign of terror in Boston last week. From the press coverage, you’d think the entire city (which is actually rather small) rose up as one and smote two evil Chechens a stunning blow for truth, justice, liberty and the American Way. Nothing could be further from the truth.

What we saw instead was a city cowering in fear, led by two particularly pusillanimous toads in Gov. Deval Patrick and Mayor Mumbles Menino, who had the services of some 10,000 armed personnel — literally, a small army — to take down… wait for it… a wounded teenager with a gun, and maybe some self-detonating explosives.

Way to go, Boston. You’ve made all of us proud to be Americans.

Speaker of the House and RINO extraordinaire John Boehner (R-OH) is denying a select committee probe that would investigate the Benghazi attack, even though there is mounting support in the House for doing just that.

However, Boehner defended his position on Monday. “The reason I haven’t called for a select committee yet is that I don’t think it’s risen to that level,” Boehner told Fox News.

“The five committees that have jurisdiction over this matter are working closely together,” said Boehner. “They’re getting the job done.”

In an April 17 column in The Detroit News, Michigan AFL-CIO President Karla Swift wrote: “Gov. Rick Snyder presides over an unprecedented redistribution of wealth favoring those who are already wealthy. Annually, $1.4 billion is being given away to corporate special interests in the form of new tax breaks with no job-creation requirements attached.”

Swift’s statements are inaccurate, says James Hohman, a fiscal policy analyst for the Mackinac Center for Public Policy.

The state didn’t give $1.4 billion to “corporate special interests.” Instead, it eliminated the Michigan Business Tax and replaced it with a corporate income tax.

Muslims foil a terror plot that involved a train running between Canada and New York City. On April 23, NBC News reported that it was a tip received from the Muslim community that launched a year-long investigation and eventually led authorities to two men believed to have been planning an attack. The two men have been arrested.
